ARTICLE SUBMISSION DIRECTORIES

Article submission directories comprise possibly the most popular option for your articles. These exist simply to house articles, nothing more, nothing less. There are several notable directories online, though there are hundreds of smaller ones. Submitting to an article directory can have a dramatic effect on your traffic, but each directory has a different submission process.

Beyond simply being read by visitors and found through search engine results, websites and ezines routinely get content from these directories; that means free advertising for you. Manually submitting your articles to these directories is the best option. You can control every aspect of the submission, as opposed to using submission software where you can only control a few aspects of it. Prepare to spend some time doing the submitting, as well. Generally, it takes between 10 – 15 minutes to submit an article. During the submission, you will fill out the author resource box.

Each article submission directory has its own rules and policies about submissions. These are usually posted in a prominent place within the website. Read and understand everything that applies; not adhering to their requirements will result in your article being declined. That means that you will have to start the entire submission process over again, which is not an attractive prospect.

 WHERE TO POST, EXACTLY
So, where are all of these article directories and other sites located? How do you find them? Below, you'll find a list of directories. Every one of these directories has somewhat similar guidelines; few of them allow affiliate linking; each stipulates that you must be the copyright holder of the article, etc.

ArticleDashboard.com
ArticleDirectory.com
GoArticles.com
ArticleCube.com
ArticlesArea.com
Buzzle.com
ArticleBasement.com
ArticelAlley.com
ArticleSphere.com
ArticleSnatch.com
ArticleBlotter.com
EzineArticles.com
WebProNews.com
Isnare.com
ArticlesFactory.com
Amazines.com
Article City
ArticleBiz.com
IdeaMarketers.com
EasyArticles.com
ArticlePros.com
Articles888.com

The above list is by no means complete; a simple search through your favorite search engine will yield thousands of results. Not every directory is worth your time, though. Some are not updated on a regular basis; others only cater to niche interests and topics. Of the list above, the top three are EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com and ArticleDashboard.com. There are other places to post, though, that few people think about.

Google Adsense - Rags to Riches?

I'm sure that the first thing just about all of you did before jumping into the affiliate marketing world was sign up for some sort of advertising revenue account such as Google Adsens or Yahoo Publisher. I myself started out with Google Adsense, but have since branched out into newer less competitive waters like Chitika, Adbrite, and now even Yahoo.

I am posting this for all the newbies to give you some hints with maximizing your Adsense revenue hopefully it helps, but like I always say NO Guarantees so your feedback and comments will only help to strengthen the value of this post.

First off after you see your first numbers be it $0.05, $0.23, $0.45....etc. don't be alarmed if the next time you logon this shows $0.00 as you didn't lose your income, it just resets daily and you can check by going to the reports and changing the time frame to list all time rather than today.

Second when placing the Ads on your pages make sure to always place them in the most visible and highly traffic parts of your site such as the top, top left hand corner and also to make sure that the codes show up on all pages.

Finally, when designing your Adsense boxes whatever they may be make sure to stylize them to match your site as different colors for borders and texts in comparison to your existing material can really throw someone off and studies have shown even cause them to leave your website altogether.

If you have some additional experiences or tips for my readers out there then feel free to post as we are all here to help each other.

Affiliate Powerhouse Visit

Yesterday I had the privilege of stopping by to visit one of the top Affiliate Marketing companies in the business as the President is a good friend of mine and invited me over to see how the operation runs.

It is quite an eye opener to see all the work that goes into building an affiliate marketing company from the ground up especially when you are talking about selling products that you don't even stock. They have a fully integrated support staff that handles all sales calls, a few people taking care of web design and maintenance, and even outsource technical support to various other parts of the globe.

The biggest lesson learned that I will share with you on this visit is one that I will continue to stress throughout my posts on this site and that is "Patience". None of the success that the company has been afforded came from any luck or overnight get rich quick scheme, it came from dedication, perseverance, and above all patience. What I mean by this is that early on in the beginning stages of your Affiliate Marketing career there are probably going to be more bad days than good. You will see more zero sales and even notice a decline in traffic before things really kick in.

I had the chance to see what happens when you work hard and don't give up it comes in the form of success beyond everything you had hoped for so let this post serve as as motivation to keep working hard and soon enough you'll be the ones staring success square in the face.

Forum Marketing

It's funny how with each marketing technique comes a new passion or excitement for the possibility of business / traffic that the new method can bring. Of course for most affiliate marketers out there reality usually sets in and expectations are deflated by the results that follow.

Now before we go completely negative I want to remind everyone that hard work and dedication will pay off so let's get back to that positive mind frame and start making money. Forums can be a great place to start or continue any great marketing campaign as it gives us an opportunity to interact and learn from others with in the affiliate marketing world.

I have joined a couple of forums so far the most popular being warrior forums which is linked at the end of this post. I have learned a lot of useful and valuable tips and tricks for improving and maintaining my web presence through interactions with other members on this site and definitely recommend it to all you newbies out there. It also gives you a great opportunity to create some back links and generate some additional traffic the more you post.

There are lots of forums out there and I would love for any of my readers to share their experiences with me and even post those links you have found useful as the more people that visit these sites the more traffic you will create for your profile.
